Earth At Northern Summer Solstice (Przemyslaw Idzkiewicz)

As of 11:28 UTC this morning (6:28 here in Kansas), it has officially been summer in the northern hemisphere, as the National Geographic explains in Summer Solstice 2010: Why It’s the First Day of Summer. (Be sure to read the first few comments to correct what might otherwise be a misapprehension.)
