Here’s a fascinating little study that may – or may not – resolve an oft-debated question.

You’re driving along in your car listening to a song for the first or for the thousandth time. Does your brain process the music and the words all together as a single entity, or does it process them separately?

In Music and Lyrics: How the Brain Splits Songs in New Scientist, Jessica Hamzelou discusses a study from the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences recently published in the Journal of Neuroscience.
