Kansas Reads . . . Tonight

Tonight the Wichita Area Library Association is sponsoring an entertaining lecture by Roy Bird, Director of the Kansas Center for the Book at the State Library of Kansas.

Beginning at 6:30 pm at Watermark Books & Café (4701 East Douglas in Wichita), Mr. Bird will discuss “Kansas Reads”, the Kansas One Book/One State program, which is presently reading President Barack Obama’s Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance.

In the last three years, the Kansas Reads program has featured The Virgin of Small Plains (2009), In Cold Blood (2008) and The Learning Tree (2007).
