Asteroid Watch

Asteroid Watch

NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory has introduced a new Asteroid Watch website to provide the public with the most accurate and up-to-date information on near-earth objects – asteroids and comets that approach earth.

For a quick summary of the website’s purposes and potential, see NASA’s news release here.

For the more detailed information upon which Asteroid Watch is based, see NASA’s website on the Near Earth Object Program.

Finally, for an interesting report on “Deflecting a Hazardous Near-Earth Object” check out the word file posted under that rubric, from the First IAA Planetary Defense Conference held in April in Granada, Spain.
