Historical Tax Forms . . . and More

It’s April 15th, and as virtually everyone in America over the age of ten is keenly aware, the deadline date for filing your income taxes. If you’ve procrastinated, you’ll find a variety of practical tools online in the library’s Hitchhikers Guide to the Web, and access to the forms you may need in the library’s tax display in the periodicals section.

If you’ve already filed, perhaps you’d enjoy a more leisurely look at a handful of items of more historical interest. At Taxhistory.org you can find a complete collection of the Form 1040 Tax Forms from 1913 to 2006, as well as Presidential Tax Returns back as far as Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s 1913 return. And be sure to check out all the other resources available at the online Tax History Museum.
