National Library Week

From Sunday April 12th through Saturday April 18th, along with thousands of other libraries across the nation, we will be celebrating National Library Week.

Among the many special events we’ll host here in Haysville during National Library Week are the third annual Chamber of Commerce breakfast on Thursday the 16th at 7:30, and our 28th Annual Read-A-Thon on Friday the 17th from 8 AM ‘til midnight.

Nationally, the American Library Association will release the State of America’s Libraries report on Monday the 13th; sponsor National Library Workers Day on Tuesday the 14th; release the ALA Office for Intellectual Freedom’s Top 10 Most Challenged Books of 2008 on Wednesday the 15th; and celebrate Support Teen Literature Day on Thursday the 16th.

So, drop by the library during National Library Week to share in the celebration, and join us for the Read-A-Thon next Friday, April 17th.
