Kansas Day 2011

Saturday evening’s celebration of the 150th anniversary of Kansas admission to statehood was a very special event, with more than 80 friends of the Haysville Community Library in attendance. Dr. Jim Hoy of Emporia State University offered his usual delightfully entertaining and informative discussion of the Old West and the role of the cowboy, particularly noting the extensive contributions of frontier Kansas to the lore of the West.

The Friends of the Library held their annual Ham ‘n Beans dinner, confirmed their election of new officers for 2011, and named Olyvia Crum Friend of the Year for 2010.
